The performance of a glue spreader not only affects the bonding quality of the veneer but also determines the amount of adhesive consumed, thereby influencing the production costs of plywood. Consequently, the following technical requirements apply to roller-type glue spreaders:
1) Enhance the uniformity of adhesive application across the entire surface area of the veneer. Specific measures include:
(1) Ensure the manufacturing and installation precision of the glue spreader's components-for instance, guaranteeing the total runout of the working surfaces of the spreading and metering rollers relative to their axes, as well as the parallelism between the upper and lower spreading rollers, and between the metering and spreading rollers.
(2) Appropriately increase the diameter of the spreading rollers.
(3) Depending on the type of adhesive used, select rubber coatings of varying hardness for the spreading rollers, and utilize different groove shapes and dimensions for the roller surfaces.
2) To accommodate veneers of varying thicknesses, the spacing between the upper and lower spreading rollers must be adjustable, and the thickness of the adhesive layer must be easy to control and regulate. The thickness of the adhesive layer is primarily determined by the gap between the metering roller and the spreading roller; the adjustment precision for this gap should be maintained within approximately 0.01 mm, while the adhesive application rate is typically controlled within the range of 105 to 430 g/m².
3) Enhance the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the glue spreader's components, and install necessary safety protection devices to extend the service life of the machine and ensure safe operation.
